Job Description
Are you an energetic junior or staff accountant looking to break into a dynamic media driven company in Manhattan? We have a terrific opportunity with a growing company eager to find an accountant to join their New York team. The right accounting candidate will be involved in billing, month end, journal entries and a variety of accounting duties. Please review the description below:
Responsibilities:
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Update billing and issue invoices.
- Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
- Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned.
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
- Assist Controller in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
- Assist with other accounting related projects.
Requirements:
- 0-2 years of accounting experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Great communication skills
- Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
- Good understanding of billing and data entry
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, including MS Excel
- Bachelors in accounting
