JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Class A CDL Driver
Department: Transportation
GENERAL PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to drive company commercial motor vehicles to perform various recovery, transporting, and delivery functions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES
· Provide services to existing and new accounts
· Complete documentation for DOT and EPA regulations
· Complete service documentation

· Maintain a valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement
· Able to handle routine customer problems and serve as a interface between customer and HOWCO
· Sample, gauge, and offload materials
· Driver position will require driving various vehicles used to perform collection, transport and delivery of products
· Driver may be assigned to various departments and /or jobs as needed or required upon completion of required training
· Keep abreast of products, market conditions and competitive activities
· Maintain equipment and coordinate maintenance/repairs with management
REQUIREMENTS
· High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required. Some college or equivalent military training preferred.
· Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement Required
· Customer relationships and generating new customer relationships
· 2 - 3 years of route based sales/service experience desired but not required
· Prefer experience in industrial/automotive products or environmental service and/or experienced with route-based services
· Prior experience with tanker transport and/or delivery of liquid products
· Prior experience operating or driving vacuum trucks desired but not required
· Ability and willingness to learn and/or perform any task associated with driving CMV
· Willing to perform any tasks as assigned by the Transportation Manager.
· Basic computer skills proficiency
· Able to work independently and as part of a team
· Good driving record
· Able to meet DOT required physical and drug screen
MINIMUM DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS:
All HOWCO drivers must meet and maintain the following criteria:
· At least two years verifiable experience with a commercial license.
· Must be at least 21 years of age.
· Must have no DOT recordable vehicle accidents in the past Twelve months.
· No more the two moving violations or 7 points in the last Eighteen months.
· No DUI or DWI convictions in the past 5 years.
· Must maintain current DOT physical pursuant to 49 CFR Part 391.41 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
· Must pass a pre-employment DOT drug test.
· Prior experience as a route and or sales driver is a plus preferred
· Must have CDL A with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Able to carry, lift, pull or push 50 pounds or more.
· Able to constantly reach, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stoop.
· The employee must constantly drive a large truck
· Able to climb on top of tanks, storage tanks, etc. using ladders, hand rails etc.
· Work outdoors in inclement weather
· Transfer material via pipeline or hose/pump
