Howard University Hospital seeks to hire a full time Clinical Registered Nurse in Wound Care who will embrace our reach and historic tradition of excellence. This full time position requires 8-hour day shifts Monday-Friday, 7:30 am- 4:00 pm. No weekends.
The Registered Nurse:

• Interacts with staff, physicians, patients and their families, other healthcare providers, Hospital and University officials, and the general public.
• Provides direct patient care as prescribed by the provider or delegation from the Nursing Leaders.
• Observes patient’s response and wound status, reporting any changes to the primary registered nurse or supervising physician, according to facility or agency guidelines.
• Participates and reinforces education to patients, family members/caregivers, and facility/agency staff that is consistent with the established care plan for preventative measures, interventions, and individualized patient treatments
• Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area. The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered as all-inclusive.

Qualified candidates will possess:

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing required
• Current licensure as an RN in the District of Columbia.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support BLS certification.
• At least 12 months RN hospital-based acute care experience in Wound Care. No certification required, training available.
