Reporting to the HFSC general counsel, the Legal Fellow is responsible for supporting the legal department in its efforts to ensure legal compliance in all aspects of HFSC operations. The Legal Fellow will collaborate daily with the general counsel, HFSC forensic sections and administrative departments, supporting the various legal needs of the corporation, with a specific focus on court backlogs, records requests, discovery orders, subpoenas, and managing other legal issues related to managing trial dockets. The Legal Fellow will also serve as a liaison between staff and stakeholders within the court system. Under the guidance of the HFSC general counsel, the Legal Fellow will ensure sound legal advice and counsel is provided to staff members at all levels of the organization. The Legal Fellow will perform professional and administrative legal functions. The position will not have any direct reports. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
