Houston Vital Signs, Inc. is Hiring a Youth Mentors/Youth Care Worker Near Richmond, TX

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Mentor to join our team. As a Youth Mentor, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and adolescents. You will work closely with individuals who may be facing challenges in various areas of their lives, providing guidance, support, and encouragement. This is a rewarding position that requires patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping young people thrive.

Responsibilities:
- Build meaningful relationships with youth and serve as a positive role model
- Provide guidance and support to help youth navigate challenges and make positive choices
- Assist with educational activities and promote academic success
- Develop and implement mentoring programs to address specific needs
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and behavioral health specialists, to ensure comprehensive care for youth
- Teach life skills, such as conflict management, communication, and decision-making
- Plan and organize recreational activities to promote socialization and personal growth
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress

- Complete everyday household chores such as cooking meals, assisting with laundry and cleaning

- Transport to and from appointments and activities in a 15 passenger van

Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or adolescents in a professional setting
- Knowledge of child welfare policies and procedures
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to educate and inspire young individuals
- Understanding of behavioral health principles
- Familiarity with social work practices
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with youth on an individual level
- Experience in mentoring or counseling is preferred
- Background in childcare, residential treatment, or group home setting is a plus
