Houston's House of Hope is a small business in Baytown, TX. We are professional, rewarding, supportive and our goal is to change the everyday way of life for every child that is entrusted to our care. Responsibilities:
-Must be able to write clear and concise report documentation at the end of each shift
- Implement and follow care plans for individuals under your supervision
- Provide childcare and support for individuals with special needs, including those with autism
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive information
- Prepare meals and ensure dietary needs are met
- Administer first aid when necessary
-Ability to implement Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
-Lifting/Moving up to 50 lbs and lifting moving up to 100 plus lbs with assistance.
-Ability to stand on your feet for 2-3 hours at a time.
-Stooping, bending, lifting, carrying, kneeling, pushing and pulling may be required in this position.
-Must be capable of physically restraining clients if necessary.
-Must be able to handle situations that may be stressful at times.
Experience:
- Previous experience in direct care or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with autism and other developmental disabilities is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to accurately document information
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions from supervisors
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Transport clients to and from appointments, work, field trips, recreation activities, etc.Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and experience requirements. The successful candidate may be required to perform additional duties as assigned by their supervisor.
