We are looking for a motivated performer to join our Business Office team as an Insurance Collections Specialist with an extensive knowledge of claims reimbursement and collection efforts for Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial plans. We are looking for a top performer with an extensive knowledge of billing, collections and reimbursement of claims processing.

Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Business Office Manager, the Collections Specialist is responsible for follow up on delinquent claims. The majority of the claims will have been submitted to various insurance carriers electronically. Knowledge of how to interpret Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial claims is a must. You will be given tools to calculate allowable and required to determine appropriateness of reimbursement and appeal claims as necessary.
You will have extensive contact with insurance carriers of all types identifying accounts that have been under or over paid. All of these practices done in a professional and communicative manner per policies and procedures, guidelines, internal control measures and established goals. .
Candidate must be a team player and have the ability to communicate well with insurance carriers. Be able to manage accounts, work independently and in a productive manner. Projects a professional demeanor and appearance while maintaining the confidentiality of administration, patients, physicians and employees. Works under stress and in situations that demand patience and tact while providing impeccable service.
Qualifications:
3-4 years previous collections experience, with emphasis on healthcare insurance collections of all types.
Medical terminology.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Skilled in time management and prioritization of work day.
Good customer service skills, always demonstrates professionalism.
Comfortable utilizing critical thinking skills.
High School Diploma or equivalency.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Experience with electronic patient information systems.
NextGen EPM software experience a plus
