Description

Being aBilingual Licensed Counselor -Sexual Violence at HAWC you will be responsible for providing services with atrauma-informed, evidence-based, and client-centered approach to adult survivors of sexual violence. The Bilingual Licensed Counselor will facilitate group and individual counseling services at HAWC Survivor Empowerment Centers located in strategically identified locations in the Houston community and remotely from home.

Work Schedule:

  • Full Time:Monday-Friday
  • Work Model: Hybrid
  • Three days per week 9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
  • Two days per week 11:30 a.m.- 8:30 p.m.
  • Local Travel: 0%

Our Total Compensation Package:

  • Starting Pay Rate: $63,407.18 annually
  • Pay schedule bi-monthly

Qualifications


The Requirements We are Seeking:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work required
  • Licensed by the State of Texas and in good standing: LMSW, LMFT-A, LCSW-A, or LPC-A
  • Entry Level- internship experience required
  • You have a validTexas driver’s license with a good driving record; reliable transportation; ability to travel to off-site locations utilizing personal transportation, if applicable

What you deliver in this role:

  • You willprovide group andindividual counseling services to survivors of sexual violence at agency locations in communities and virtually reduce barriers commonly encountered by individuals within this population.
  • You will work cooperatively with other staff to ensure optimal utilization of resources and efficient management of program.
  • You will perform Mandatory Reporting: report suspected and prior abuse/neglect to TexasDepartment of Family and Protective Services when appropriate.
  • You will advocate at HAWC and other agencies on behalf of clients.
  • You will communicate concerns about clients to the supervisor.
  • You will maintain accurate records and appropriate documentation of services.
  • You will implement all program evaluations to ensure effective programming.
  • You will help break down barriers, Mobile Advocacy is required, this includes meeting the client in the community, work, or other safe places, etc., and accompanying clients to appointments as needed.
  • Other duties/projects may be assigned.

  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish, able to fluently read, speak, and write in both languages.
  • You have strong communicationskills.
  • You have great organizationskills.
  • Understanding and sensitivity towards the issues of sexual and domestic violence.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends asneeded.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel)
  • You can work independently and well with others
