ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:
Housing Forward, formerly known as Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance (MDHA) is a backbone organization that leads the development of an effective homeless rehousing system. In partnership with 100 public, private, and nonprofit institutions, we make the experience of homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties rare, brief, and non-recurring. Housing Forward’s team members upholds the Organizational values of Teamwork, Equity, Servant Leadership, and Flexibility.
Housing Forward believes that effective solutions to homelessness are created with communities historically impacted by the systems we are attempting to transform. We strongly encourage applications from people who are representative of the culturally and ethnically diverse communities we work with. This includes people who have lived experience of homelessness.
MEMBER DUTIES:
Activities will include recruiting in-kind items and volunteers for the Point-in-Time (PIT) count, improving data accuracy, and connecting homeless individuals with crucial services, moving them closer to exiting poverty. Additionally, they will connect volunteer inquiries with All Neighbors Coalition partners, amplifying the capacity of these organizations to provide vital support, thus increasing the likelihood of people emerging from poverty. Their role in planning and executing annual events like the State of Homelessness, General Assembly, CEO Breakfasts, and more will raise public awareness, generate support, and provide essential funding for Housing Forward, enabling them to expand services and help more individuals on their path out of poverty. As a result, impoverished beneficiaries will gain improved access to resources, support, and opportunities, ultimately fostering stability and a brighter future for those striving to break free from poverty.
