House of Spices (India) Inc. is Hiring an Inventory Manager Near Hyde Park, NY

House of Spices is a deeply rooted brand within the food industry, leading the specialty food and ingredient category for over 40 years. Fast-forward from its start as a homegrown family business, House of Spices has become a middle-market wholesale/manufacturer which includes multiple distribution networks across the country. Although the business has and continues to expand rapidly, the brand is still family-owned and home-based out of the NYC metro area. HOS is looking for an Innovative and proficient Inventory Control Manager to join our team. The Inventory Control Manager will oversee Inventory at a national scale. The role will also be responsible to manage the inventory KPI to ensure goals are being met. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Essential Functions

  • Able to provide management and oversight to the inventory team
  • Develop and enhance our inventory management practices and control procedures, striving for best-in-class globally and across all Businesses
  • Improve our ABCD inventory management across our global network
  • Evaluate our internal processes and those of our external partners to ensure continuity in processes and reporting and maintain a high rate of accuracy throughout our network
  • Analyze global inventory position to anticipate issues, and opportunities, able to make recommendations based on data and findings
  • Effectively develop and present global inventory plans to our COO that support our strategies, achieve our goals / KPIs, optimize our operations, and stay within our business plans
  • Develop KPIs to ensure we’re measuring the right data points to drive effective decision-making
  • Build and maintain working relationships with our partners to ensure compliance with our inventory requirements and managing principles which this role will implement
  • Report to leadership and cross-functional teams regarding inventory levels, trends, KPIs, and procedural efficiency
  • Work with our Business Systems team to ensure we are integrating our ERP with key inventory management platforms (WMS’, OMS’, TMS’) across our network
  • Plan and direct our annual physical inventory and cycle counting programs in cooperation with our FP&A and Compliance teams
  • Provides coaching, direction, and conducts performance reviews for employees to achieve department, company and customer results.
  • Monitors operational statistics, reports trends, variances, and issues, and takes appropriate action
  • Be responsible for inventory adjustments and write offs
  • Ensures safe handling and proper documentation of breakage. Research and apply corrective actions for shortages, filling errors, not-on-trucks, breakage, and incorrect invoices.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory management or a related role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Previous corporate experience or warehouse management
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and perform job tasks independently in an unstructured environment with limited direction
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, growing company

Travel

Ability to travel up to 50%, occasionally working evenings and weekends as needed for special assignments.
