Summary Job Description

Coordinate the day-to-day field operations of Heidler Roofing Services, Inc., in a Safe, Productive, Orderly and Profitable Manner by interacting directly with the Project Manager on all aspects of Construction. Coordinate and properly communicate externally with customers, consultants, architects, and general contractors to assure all expectations are being met and to uphold our value of being the Choice.

Essential Functions:

  • Enforces safety procedures and policies of Heidler Roofing Services, Inc.
    • Do periodic formal job site safety inspections and coach foreman on proper safety procedures.
    • Review and forward foreman safety reports to the safety director.
    • Holds weekly toolbox safety meetings with working crews.
    • Make sure all accident reports are completed by proper personnel immediately after an accident.
  • Prior to starting any roofing project, review the following with the Project Manager and Foreman to assure compliance with Heidler Roofing Standards.
    • Safety Plan and equipment requirements
    • Construction details and sequencing of the work with other trades.
    • Purchase orders and material delivery schedules.
  • Monitors job progress and quality by regular jobsite visits to all field crews, maintenance crews and sheet metal crews.
  • Allocate manpower as need to optimize efficiency of all field crews, maintenance crews and sheet metal crews.
  • Ensure daily time sheets, foremen’s production reports, and material sheets are correct and forwarded as per Company policy.
  • Attends and provides updates at the weekly production meetings.
  • Trains foreman in proper roofing techniques for various systems.
  • Interviews, evaluates, and hires new field employees as necessary to maintain an adequate work force to complete the work on hand.
  • Provides advice on technical aspects of certain jobs to the estimating department.

Assist in monitoring equipment used and maintenance to see that all equipment is kept in always working condition.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Comparable Experience
  • OSHA 30 Hour Training
  • Experience in the construction industry standard and details
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Minimum 10-year in the Roofing Industry and 5 years as a Foreman.
  • Ability to read and understand specification and drawings for projects

Travel

Ability and flexibility for frequent travel is expected for this position.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment as well as on site at construction locations. The use of computers, printers, cell phones, telephones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines is required. Other functions can take place indoors or outdoors, sometimes in high, precarious places with fumes and/or airborne particles. The standard outdoor work environment has loud to very loud noise levels associated with various equipment, coworkers, and phone conversations. Often work must be performed in high and/or cramped workspaces and awkward positions. The employee works around hazardous situations, materials, and equipment.
