Summary Job Description

Manage and coordinate the day-to-day job operations of our customer’s project in a safe, productive, orderly, and profitable manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge and ability to install complete shingle roofing systems.
  • Supervise and develop employees in daily operations of roofing work to ensure quality workmanship on all projects.
  • Communicate with supervisor daily concerning the roofing project.
  • Accurately document daily production and time through daily work card.
  • Ensure excellent customer service through courteousness and coordination with customers during the projects.
  • Provide packing slips to the accounting department for all material deliveries or pick-ups.
  • Plan, coordinate, and prepare for the workday by securing the materials and equipment for that day’s work.
  • Maintain and perform basic repairs on equipment and tools. Notify the shop mechanic of problems as needed.

Requirements

  • Five years of roofing experience.
  • Proven roofing or general construction experience.
  • Working knowledge of different steep-slope roofing systems.
  • Sound knowledge of business ordinances.
  • The ability to lift heavy materials and tools.
  • The ability to use powered hand tools.

Work Environment

Functions can take place indoors or outdoors, sometimes in high, precarious places with fumes and/or airborne particles. The standard work environment has loud to very loud noise levels associated with various equipment, coworkers, and phone conversations. Often work must be performed in high and/or cramped workspaces and awkward positions. The employee works around hazardous situations, materials, and equipment.

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands are based on the ability to perform the following actions throughout an 8–10-hour period of work for a 4–7-day work week.
  • Exert oneself physically over long periods of time.
  • Bend stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and other extremities.
  • Use one’s abdominal muscles and lower back to lift continuously over time without fatiguing.

  • Excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required.
  • Ability to clearly hear within speech range in an environment with construction noise.
  • Kneel, squat, or bend consistently for more than 4 hours a day.
  • Use hands consistently to grip or pinch for more than 4 hours a day.
  • Make repetitive motions much of work hours.
  • Work outdoors.

Safety

  • Follow all Heidler Roofing LLC., OSHA and customer safety policy and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisor or safety manager.

Supervisory Responsibility

Supervise and train employees in daily operations in steep slope roofing to ensure quality workmanship.

Travel

Mostly in-state travel is required, sometimes overnight or multiple-day stays out of town. The company does not guarantee transportation.
