Hotel Kansas City is Hiring a SALES MANAGER - WEDDING MARKET Near Kansas, MO

Summary

The Wedding Market Sales Manager is a fully competent individual who has experience in the sales process and function of a hotel. Responsibilities include selling guest rooms, meeting space and other Hyatt services to customer groups, managing accounts, and conducting site inspections, solicits and generates business. Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals, maintaining well organized documentation and reports, utilizes Hyatt systems and coordinates customer service requirements as appropriate. The Sales Manager will also participate and may lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings. The Sales Manager also works as a team member with the sales and catering staff to in close contact with assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Be incredibly friendly, customer centric, and have FUN in a team environment.
  • Solicit and manage all Wedding business for the Hotel.
  • Achieve a strong pace and funnel to meet and exceed individual assigned revenue goals.
  • Develop/Create exciting and memorable site inspections to accompany inventive and creative proposals.
  • Conduct outside sales calls to deliver new business and maintain existing business relationships.
  • Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies.
  • Assist in developing strategies to increase share from competitors.
  • Assist in preparation of complete and accurate weekly reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Marketing Plan.
  • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Over two years of large group selling experience in a full-service hotel with successful results.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Candidates should be familiar with marketing plans, action plan creation as well as working with both revenue and sales call goals.
  • Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office.
  • Maintain consistent verbal and written communication with clients & team.
  • Active listener.
  • Work effectively with other departments.
  • Ability to work some weekends, and evenings.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
