Job Description

We are now taking resumes for our Production teams at our bakery in Columbus, GA.

We will have positions on both 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift for all roles listed below.

Production Utility

As a part of the Production you are responsible for several bakery manufacturing activities. You must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, be able to communicate and work effectively in a team structure and be flexible in work assignments within the utility category.

The assignments are as follows : Pan Setter, Feeder, Packer / Carton, Packer / Cases, Shipping Stacker, Handler, Sanitor, Receiver, Palletizer.

You must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions, safely and accurately complete assigned duties and maintain GMP standards.

You will be a part of the Food Defense Team.

Production Operator 1

As an operator 1 worker, you must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, be able to communicate and work effectively in a team structure and be flexible in work assignments within the operator category.

The assignments are as follows : Mixer, Fryer, Oven Operator, Wrap Operator, Depositor, Scaler, VFFS, Pearson, Vari Straight Right / Left, Enrober, Forklift, Yard Dog.

You must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions, safely and accurately complete assigned duties and maintain GMP standards.

You will be a part of the Food Defense Team.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Previous safety training preferred.

Prior food industry experience a plus.

Familiarity with bakery equipment preferred.

Excellent communication skills.

Problem solving, math and reading comprehension skills are required

Work Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment and manufacturing sites can be loud.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand;
  • walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance;

and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. May push and pull trash carts weighing up to 500lb, dough carts weighing up to 800lb, portable equipment and catch pans weighing up to 500lb.
