Senior Analyst, Data Integrity: Forecasting & Demand Planning

Overview:

HSS Supply Chain Management specializes in the procurement and strategic sourcing of goods, services, and medical equipment for the organization while managing vital functions such as strategic planning, contract negotiation, logistics optimization, distribution & pricing strategies, supply chain innovation and informatics, that together enable the delivery of highest standards of orthopedics healthcare operations and foster professional partnerships with customers and suppliers.

The enterprise utilizes Lawson Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in support of it procure to pay workflows and master data management, while portions of the implant inventory management processes are supported by a variety of third-party applications in conjunction with the Epic (EMR) platform to provide views into the surgical schedule and utilization patterns.

In this context, the Forecasting & Demand Planning Sr. Analyst role, under the direct supervision of the Supply Chain Systems & Data Integrity Sr. Director, and in collaboration with the OR applications Technology Manager, supports the Surgical Supply Chain Operation with ERP master data integrity tasks, OR inventory reporting & analytics while focusing on forecasting & demand planning activities.

The Forecasting & Demand Planning Sr. Analyst will play a pivotal role in a dynamic, business/operational environment serving as the liaison between the Systems and Data Integrity, Surgical Supply Chain Operations, Clinical IT and Operational Excellence teams in support of initiatives that seek to enable and end-to-end view into the HSS and OR vendor supply chains.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilites:

  • A highly motivated individual with excellent problem-solving and communication skills to join a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment in a cutting-edge field of business transformation
  • Support the ERP, EMR, and other item and location related data management efforts including item/location adds, updates, in-activations, and inventory set up
  • Monitor OR inventory management applications including integrations to the ERP and EMR systems and disseminate reports to Surgical Supply Chain operations and technology teams
  • Leverage EMR for OR scheduling and utilization trends to establish optimal inventory levels
  • Leverage Tableau reporting and data visualization to present inventory dashboards in support of demand planning and forecasting
  • Establish collaborative relationships with organizational stakeholders and vendors to accurately identify, prioritize and communicate implant and specialty supply needs to ensure timely product availability for surgical schedule
  • Track weekly/monthly forecast results versus established targets; identify and report on root cause for forecast error below targets
  • Revise base forecast model for multiple product groups to incorporate vendor/contract requirements and business plans
  • Interact with various departments including warehousing, purchasing, operational excellence to ensure a smooth demand planning process
  • Serve as subject matter expert in demand planning for consignment, loaned and owned implant inventories
  • Ensure that business assumptions underlying the demand plan are reviewed, updated, agreed upon and documented
  • Educate other analysts in the use of mathematical models for statistical forecasting
  • Define data requirements for statistical forecasting and gather and validate information
  • Utilize project management tools to track and communicate project updates
  • Present generated Information to relevant stakeholders
  • Handle other related duties as necessary

Qualifications

Skills Required:

Educational Level:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Health Care Administration/Management or Computer Science & Engineering
  • Master’s Degree, Preferred

Years of Experience:

  • Three (3) years of Data Management Experience in large health organizations
  • One (1) year of project management work

Computer Program/ Software Operated Required

  • Data Warehouse Solutions

  • SQL Server Reporting Services, Python and JavaScript programming (preferred)
