The Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist III-Dedicated Call is specifically responsible for coverage of on-call procedures during weekday and/or weekend hours, which may include holidays, within their designated department. Assists the physician with the performance of invasive and diagnostic/interventional cardiac, vascular, neuro and electrophysiology procedures, by monitoring, passing instruments and catheters, observing patient response to procedure, maintaining sterile field, and interpreting and evaluating diagnostic data to be utilized by the physician. Position requires the operation of equipment that produces ionizing radiation. Due to the nature of the role, practices autonomously and with minimal supervision.
The Registered Nurse (RN)–Dedicated Call is specifically responsible for coverage of on-call procedures during weekday and/or weekends hours, including holidays, within their designated department. Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families. Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families, and supervising assigned team members. Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards, making or recommending necessary adjustments, and following nursing philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations. Due to the nature of the role, practices autonomously and with minimal supervision.
QualificationsEducation - RN
Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
Education - Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist
Associates degree in radiologic technology, allied health, applied science or completion of certificate/training program is required.
Experience
3 years of experience working in a cath lab nurse role or radiologic technologist role is required.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
Licensed Radiographer in the state of practice is required or Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice is required.
Certification as a Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography (RT(R)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
Advanced certification is preferred: Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) certification from ARRT or certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
