The Patient Care Assistant I-Ministry Float is designated to float to units within the same ministry based on the PCA's competency level. Completes appropriate competency and cross-training to float to designated units. Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides direct and non-direct patient care according to their scope of practice. The Patient Care Assistant I-Ministry Float understands and reacts effectively to the unique needs of all patients and works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team to provide safe patient care.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

Experience

1 year experience in acute care setting is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification in the state of practice is preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within 30 days of hire.
