Overview:
Hospital for Special Surgery, #1 in Orthopedics for the last 14 years and is currently looking for an experienced and energetic Full time Medical Secretary to join our Orthopedic Trauma Service within the HSS at NYP Program.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to physician practices within the HSS at NYP program, assisting with the day-to-day services and contributing to an environment of clinical excellence. Your duties will entail developing processes to maximize office resources, anticipating the needs of the service as they arise and floating in various practices as needed. Responsibilities will include but not limited to answering phones, scheduling patient appointments and procedures, conducting verification of medical insurances, checking out patients and collecting payment, obtaining insurance pre-certification and authorizations, filing/chart preparations, and liaising with billing company.
Competencies/skills:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (Associates Degree preferred) and at least two years of related MD office/healthcare experience.
