• Assist with meal preparation, including cooking
• Assist staff with preparation of food trays
• Assist staff with delivering food trays to patient’s rooms
• Assist staff with removing food trays from rooms
• Ensure all dishes have been cleaned and put away per state regulations
• Ensure all foods are tightly sealed and properly labeled before placing in refrigerator
• Ensure all counter tops are cleaned
• Clean equipment as assigned
• Follow cleaning list to include dining room (as posted)
• Miscellaneous duties assigned within kitchen.
• Unload trucks when they arrive; break boxes down and discard them in their proper place.
• Ensures the protection of patient and employee information by following HIPAA –HITECH guidelines.
• Assures that employees maintain the integrity of all forms of patient information including but not limited to electronic personal health information
• Assures that there are no attempts to access more than the minimum necessary information to complete his/her job
• Be flexible, organized and work effectively and professionally under stress
• Professionally represent the organization with credibility and dignity and in the spirit of excellence and trust
• Demonstrate and communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the facility as the face of Hospice
• Assumes other duties as necessary

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A. Must have cooking skills

B. Must be responsible; accept supervision

C. Must be able to take initiative, manage time wisely

D. Able to communicate verbally and in writing, work cooperatively with team and member staff

E. Able to work successfully with varied groups of people

F. ServSafe certification preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.25 - $14.00 per hour
