Want to join our Team? We are currently looking for a Professional Liaison Associate to join our team. The Professional Liaison Associate develops and maintains professional relationships between Hospice of the Chesapeake (HOC) and various referral sources (hospitals, long-term care facilities, physicians, managed care organizations, independent medical clinics/offices, and other healthcare professionals) in their assigned territories. The focus of these relationships is to improve patient access to HOC services, increase overall census and educate referral sources about the benefits to patients and families when referred early to hospice care. 

Office Location: Largo, MD

Coverage Area: Prince George's County

Status: Full-time – 40 hours/week

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintains close relationships with healthcare professionals in assigned accounts/territory in order to maintain constant visibility of HOC programs and services and troubleshoots real or perceived problems that could impact patient referrals.
  • Analyzes referral source patterns, determines reason(s) for the referral and develops targeted marketing plan(s) to maximize the further development of the particular referral source.
  • Develops market insight and understanding of competition in the territory and contributes to development of strategies to overcome the competition. 
  • Acts as a representative liaison between HOC and referral sources. Follow-up with concerns reported by facility staff and discusses issues with appropriate Clinical Team Managers or other appropriate managers.
  • Participates in a variety of Business Development, Clinical Teams and other meetings and activities to ensure timely communication of marketing strategies/referral source needs.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve the level of service provided by the department, including ongoing evaluations of current systems and processes. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Your Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma required, associate degree, Bachelor’s degree in marketing, nursing, or other health related fields preferred. A successful track record in outside sales/marketing highly desirable. Experience in nonprofit and/or hospice care preferable. 
  • 1-2 years experience in sales and business development required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of managed care organizations, including utilization review and capitated contracting concepts with hospitals and physician groups (physician billing, nursing home billing and hospice Medicare billing.
  • Solid analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills in order to effectively identify referral source problem areas, develop appropriate courses of action and convey same to client.
  • Must be computer fluent and able to use email, and common business software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) to conduct business in a timely and accurate manner.
