HORUS Technology Solutions is looking for a Senior Oracle APEX Developer to join our team.

The Senior Oracle APEX Developer’s position will support our prime contract at Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This position is remote with limited onsite meetings with the customer. This contract supports applications developed using Oracle APEX and are integrated with various COTS products.

A top candidate would be very client focused. To be a strong team player you must be proactive in identifying issues and risks, and work with the client and the team to be a trusted advisor. Another challenge is maintaining an excellent level of current operational support while planning and integrating new enhancements and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform requirements analysis, specification development, design, develop, test, deploy assigned applications, and reverse engineer current applications.
• Perform as a subject matter expert for APEX application development Administer all APEX objects, code, and forms.
• Develop and maintain assigned applications using Oracle APEX Develop procedure and packages using PL/SQL.
• Identify production and non-production application features, limitations, and issues.
• Identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize applications of Oracle Apex developed projects.
• Provide technical support and consultation for Oracle Apex application and infrastructure.
• Establish, refine, and integrate development and test environment tools and software as needed.
• Supports continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
• Develop and execute unit test plans to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Support formal testing and resolve test defects.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Oracle Application Express (APEX) and invoking COTS Product APIs such as DocuSign.
• Proven working experience with Java development (HTML, CSS, Java, and Java scripting) and a strong understanding of Java and Java web applications.
• Experience with JDBC, SQL and database-stored procedures.
• Strong design, development, implementation skills maintaining user-facing interfaces for internet applications.
• Strong troubleshooting skills required to troubleshoot or provide guidance to ancillary problems related to an Oracle APEX application, such as performance or networking issues.
• Application integration by designing database architecture and server-side scripting to establish connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.
• Experience with design methodologies and tools sets.
• Drive best practices, quality and consistency within design and development phases and coordinates efforts with fellow teammates.
• Good oral and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to work on multiple projects/issues simultaneously.
• Must have the ability to assess the impact of software upgrades and other environment changes.
• Bachelor’s degree and Eight or more years of work experience is required in Oracle 18c/19c Database, SQL, PL/SQL programming.
