The Warehouse Associate will play a key role in the smooth operation of our warehouse by performing various tasks related to receiving, storing, and distributing goods and materials.
Responsibilities:
Receive incoming shipments and verify their contents against packing lists or purchase orders.
Inspect incoming goods for damages or defects and report any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
Properly record all received items and update inventory records as necessary.
Store received goods in designated locations within the warehouse.
Organize warehouse space efficiently to maximize storage capacity.
Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accuracy and prevent stock shortages.
Retrieve items from storage areas based on order requirements.
Accurately pick and pack orders according to packing lists or customer specifications.
Prepare orders for shipment by labeling boxes, sealing packages, and arranging for carrier pickup or delivery.
Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
Ensure all outgoing shipments are properly packaged and labeled for transit.
Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low stock or inventory discrepancies.
Assist with periodic inventory counts and audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
Update inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS) or inventory tracking software.
Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
Perform routine maintenance checks on warehouse equipment and report any maintenance issues to supervisors.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
Proficiency in using warehouse equipment and systems.
Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.
