Job Description :

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a two -year community / technical college that offers more than 75 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

HGTC offers three convenient campus locations in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach, Conway and Georgetown.

The Student Services department at Horry-Georgetown Technical College is seeking applicants for a Student Support Specialist.

The Specialist will be under direct supervision of the Registrar while providing cross-functional service and administrative support in Tech Central and Admissions Processing.

The Specialist will be responsible for the following duties :

  • Navigates clients through the admissions process by clarifying the process steps.
  • Provides the best possible experience for them at every interaction by displaying customer service skills including compassion and composure, while providing the client with prompt, accurate information.
  • Responsible for assisting clients in the completion of financial aid forms. Reviews submitted documents for accuracy, and promptly inputs tracking codes in Banner.
  • Audits admissions applications and completes data entry for Dual Enrollment and CCU Bridge applicants.

Advertised Salary :

$31,561 (Minimum)- $44,977 (Midpoint)

Minimum Requirements :

Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications :

A combination of education and experience will be considered. Office, Microsoft application, and / or customer service experience required.

Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, customer service, and technology skills. Higher education, financial aid, or higher education experience preferred.
