Maintenance Technician I - Las Animas, Co.

Maintenance Technician is a position that provides technical support to the Environment and Maintenance function for the Mountain Prairie system.

The work schedule for this position is 5 days on 2 days off, determined by the manager. Start time is 6:00 am. and end time is whenever the job is done for the day (varies).

*MANDATORY SHOWER UPON ENTRY AND UPON LEAVING THE FARM UNITS*

QUALIFICATIONS:

The person in this position:

• Must have strong mechanical knowledge and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Must posses the ability to work in a fast-paced environment without direct supervisor.
• Must have knowledge of small motors and pumps.
• Must have knowledge of electrical systems and general plumbing.
• Must have the ability to climb structures and safety work around water.
• Must have the ability to operate heavy equipment.
• General welding skills a plus.
• Must be a systematic person who pays attention to detail.
• Must be a dependable individual who is willing to be on call.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be willing to obtain a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License. 

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Repair and maintenance of effluent system components, incldu9ing effluent pumps, recycle lines, flush and pull-plug systems.
• Cleaning effluent systems with acid and water jetter.
• Daily inspection of effluent systems.
• Removal of dead stock from production sites on a routine, timely basis,.
• Complete and maintain records as needed.
• Effluent monitoring and sampling.
• Effluent transfers.
• Solids and feed wastage clean-ups.
• Maintains company required maintenance records for identified equipment, installations, preventative maintenance, repair of pump motors and various electrical equipment.
• Working knowledge of recycle systems.
• Maintain grounds in a manner that will prevent erosion, control vectors, allow storm water to drain, and maintain a good appearance of all facilities.
• Perform equipment inspections.
• Other duties as assigned.
