• Part-Time Teacher Assistant
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Hourly Pay: $18–$20 per hour (based on experience)

Horizon Science Academy Columbus Elementary School is looking for a Teacher Assistant to join our team for the 2023-2024 school year. Responsibilities:

• Support the school's mission, philosophies, values, goals, and policies toward students, parents/guardians, and coworkers.
• Assist students in completing classroom assignments, homework, and projects.
• Ensure student understanding of classroom rules and procedures and provide guidance, emotional support, and a friendly attitude.
• Design and deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum and instruction that reflects observations and goals of individual children.
• Observe and control behavior of students in the classroom according to approved procedures.
• Monitor students during outdoor activities as directed.
• Become familiar with student IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals and report progress regarding student performance and behavior to the supervising teacher.
• Interact frequently and respectfully with students and adults.

Qualifications:

• At least a high school diploma.
• Passion for working with students and helping them succeed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic educational environment.
• Experience in a similar role is a plus but not required; we will help you obtain a teacher-aide license.
