Job Title: Summer School Program Coordinator Wage/Hour Status: ExemptReports to: Principal Date Revised: March 2024Dept./School: Assigned Campus__________________________________________________________________ Summary: Works under the supervision of the principal and is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Summer School Program. *Summer School will run June 3 - June 27, 2024 - Monday - Thursday**Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Qualifications/Education:Bachelor's degree from accredited universityValid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsementsStudent teaching, approved internship, or related work experience Other Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.Ability to support and guide teachers.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to effectively present information and responds to questions from administrators, peers, students, parents, and the general public.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to provide virtual/distance learning to students via Google Classroom and other multimedia options in response to pandemics, natural disasters, catastrophic events, etc.Major Responsibilities and Duties: Program Strategies & ManagementImplement and coordinate the Summer School Program.Supervise the entire daily campus operation of the summer programs and assists in the development and planning of effective instructional strategies for the Summer School Program.Montior instructional processes to ensure that program activities are related to outcomes and use findings to take corrective actions where necessary.Work with principal and campus administration in the development of summer school master schedule.Supervise the campus in the principal’s absence.Coordinate staffing needs for the Summer School Program.Supervise Summer School Program attendance procedures.Assist with completion and issuance of Summer School Program report cards.Assist in implementing Summer School Program discipline procedures and assist in handling infractions.Conducts administrative tasks warranted for the operation of the Summer School Program.Completes closing tasks for the Summer School Program. CommunicationCommunicate daily with Principal on all matters related to the Summer School Program.Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly. OtherMaintain confidentiality.Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.Provide weekly performance reports, required logs and other required documentation by set deadlines.Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.Performs other duties as assigned by the campus administration. Supervisory Responsibilities: Assigned Staff Equipment Used: Computer, telephone, printer, copier, fax machine, calculator, standard instructional equipment, peripherals, P.E. teachers; automated external defibrillator (AED). Working Conditions:Occasional absences are understood but regular attendance is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to prolonged standing, sitting, frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting, and frequent walking. Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipment. Employee may work inside/outside and may be subject to extreme weather. Regular exposure to noise. The employee must maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions; may work prolonged or irregular hours. Employee may be subject to biological hazards.In accordance with TEA regulations, STET/HMPS will provide virtual/distance learning when it is necessary. This platform will be conducted either from a classroom or a location other than the school building, as approved by the Superintendent.
