Description

Job Summary: 

The Regional Workforce and Housing Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day oversight of Workforce Development and Human Services and staff in their designated region. Workforce and Housing Coordinator will be responsible for the identification of and application to housing resources the areas served by Horizon Goodwill Industries.  She/he will be responsible for development, management and supervision of the housing programs including personnel in designated areas. This position will work alongside the Associate Director of Workforce Development to develop and implement professional development plans for Workforce and Housing staff. 

Essential Functions: 

Examples of work include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of case finding and client recruitment initiatives and provide oversight to the team as directed.
  • Perform screening, intake, and case management with applicants in the region to ensure client entrance into appropriate programs.
  • Implement training and interventions to further career development of assigned clients, including job readiness training, job seeking support, employment retention support, barrier resolution and volunteer opportunities.
  • Act as liaison between assigned clients, employers and referral and funding sources.
  • Provide post-employment support and assist clients to identify and utilize natural support systems and refer to appropriate community resources as needed.
  • Advocate for and educate clients, community organizations and employers concerning HGI programs and services and maintain good rapport.
  • Maintain all relevant client records, case notes and other documentation including attendance records and reports.
  • Complete monthly progress reports and submit fee-for-service invoices as directed, as well as attend meetings as needed.
  • Perform screening, intake, and orientation functions with applicants in the region to ensure compliance with Housing and Urban Development, Homeless Management Information Systems, and Coordinated Entry requirements. And to facilitate client/exit entrance into appropriate programs and services.  
  • Monitor or administer program grants. Ensure access to new and available streams of funding in assigned programs and services to maximize opportunities for clients served.
  • Travel through-out Horizon Goodwill’s territory to market agency services, supervise assigned staff, participate in, or facilitate trainings, attend designated meetings and other activities necessary for the effective management and functioning of Housing services/programs.
  • Assist with program evaluation and community needs assessment to identify program and service needs.
  • Participate in development and submission of program and service proposals to expand and diversify program funding as directed.

Education and Experience: 

  • Experience working with individuals/families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle on a continual basis.
  • Experience working with families with housing insecurity
  • Experience providing holistic case management services.
  • Experience interacting with volunteers.
