Horizon Christian in Indianapolis seeks a Christian educator who desires to work in a growing school. This would be a full-time Art teaching position beginning in the 2024-25 school year.

Qualifications:

• MUST currently be able to legally work in the United States. We cannot sponsor anyone.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Teaching license required OR willingness to pursue licensure
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
• Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology
• Ability to maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school

Responsibilities:

• Teaches art to sixth through twelfth grade students (primarily high school students)
• Supports Horizon’s vision of Biblical Worldview Shaping combined with academic excellence
• Plans, prepares, and delivers biblically integrated instruction
• Communicates high expectations for all students
• Effectively plans and prepares for lessons and units that align with Horizon’s Biblical Worldview Shaping and Indiana’s academic standards
• Engages students by incorporating and by maintaining a variety of instructional strategies and technology
• Incorporates evaluation strategies that are appropriate for the students and that are aligned with the goals of the lesson
• Maintains accurate and complete student records
• Reviews student records in order to develop a foundation of understanding regarding each student's abilities and needs
• Communicates with students and parents concerning their progress in a timely manner
• Prepares students for state required achievement assessments
• Maintains positive rapport with students; demonstrates patience and appropriate nurturing to assist in the growth of the child
• Performs other duties as assigned
