Horiba Scientific which specializes in scientific instruments has an opening in its Piscataway, New Jersey location for an Applications Scientist.

Responsibilities include:

· Pre-sales and post-sales technical support of spectroscopic products

· Assisting sales and service in their interactions with prospects and existing customers

· Running prospect samples and writing analysis reports

· Performing demonstrations and customer training at HORIBA facility or in the field

· Writing applications notes and technical articles

· Giving scientific and sales presentations at events and meetings

· Attending trade shows to provide technical support

· Discovering and developing new applications for our instruments

Requirements

· M.S. Degree or PHD in chemistry, biophysics, physics, materials sciences/engineering, or other related scientific field

· Knowledge of spectroscopic instruments and techniques such as Raman, Fluorescence, FTIR and Photoluminescence preferred

· Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time, including international trips

· Must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Positive proactive thinker with great attention to detail

· Strong analytical skills
