Hopkinton Public School District is Hiring a 24-158 - Part-Time (.5) School Psychologist Near Hopkinton, MA

TITLE:School Psychologist

TYPE OF POSITION: Part-time (.5); 2024-2025 school year; salarycommensurate with experience and education (range: $56,870 - $116,384; prorated for part-time: $28,435 - $58,192)

LOCATION: Hopkins Elementary School, Hopkinton, Massachusetts

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All qualified candidates

This is the position of School Psychologist. It is the responsibility of the incumbent to monitor the social, emotional, and behavioral progress of the students, and provide prevention, intervention, and referral services for students, as needed.

DUTIES:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor social/emotional/behavioral student progress as it impacts access to curriculum with concrete documentation of students on caseload;
  • Administer, interpret and report on all psychological evaluation results for initial and three-year special education evaluations, and attend and report assessment results as part of the IEP process;
  • Provide prevention, intervention and referral for students with social/emotional/behavioral challenges, and therapeutic counseling for students on IEPs and other at-risk students, as deemed appropriate by the Team, advocating for individual student needs, as necessary;
  • Consult and collaborate with students, families, and outside agencies, school programs and school staff;
  • Share responsibility for evaluation and implementation of functional behavioral assessments (FBA) and behavior intervention plans (BIP) as necessary;
  • Conduct, consult and collaborate for school activities that promote healthy pro-social skills and positive school culture;
  • Participate in the LST, IEP and/or 504 process, as needed;
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To be considered qualified for the position ofSchool Psychologist, candidates must have/be:

  • Licensed, or eligible for licensure as a School Psychologist by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education;
  • Masters degree in School Psychology;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults;
  • Commitment to remain current in field knowledge, evaluation and counseling strategies
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and in conformity with state licensure requirements.
