A Gift Shop Sales Associate is a representative of the company’s high customer service standards of the gift shop. The Gift Shop Sales Associate is responsible for providing each customer with prompt, efficient, and courteous service while simultaneously fulfilling their requests.

· Establish and maintain a professional, positive attitude with management, co-workers and general public

· Provide excellent customer service at all times

· Maintain positive attitude at work place

· Maintain a neat and clean professional appearance

· Provide information about the Hopi Reservation and/or HCC when requested

· Responsible for inventory control and marketing of the gift shop

· Organizes monthly inventory of merchandise and stock, extends and prices inventory

· Assists clients with selections if requested

· Handle guests’ concerns promptly and efficiently

· Ensuring that the gift shop area of the facility is kept in a clean and inviting physical appearance

· Ensure Gift Shop is kept orderly and clean

· Maintain inventory to established volumes and notify General Manager when merchandise goes below those volumes

· Possess knowledge of merchandise

· Assists clients with selections if requested

· Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager or other Corporate Management

· Possess a high school diploma or equivalent work experience

· 1 – 2 years’ experience in retail sales

· 2 years' experience in Gift Shop and/or Art Appreciation

· Experience in cash handling and credit card processing

· Experience in using a POS computerized system

· Experience in working with the public

· Ability to work with minimal supervision

· Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and public/customers

· Ability to provide public/customers information about the area and Hopi culture

· Ability to perform basic math skills

· Ability to count money and make change accurately

· Ability to listen and follow instructions

· Ability to work in a fast paced environment

· Ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions

· Must be able to stand for long periods of time

· Must be able to bend, twist, and reach on a regular basis

· Must be able to lift between 10-30 lbs.

· Must be able to tolerate working in a wide range of temperatures
