Hopes Promise Respite LLC is currently looking for Mentors to join our team to provide direct support and assistance to individuals in the home and in the community. We currently service all 21 counties in the state of New Jersey. Our Mission is to improve and promote independence throughout life stages with quality and compassion.

Mentors will use best practices and technology within a community based residential setting to teach people with developmental disabilities how to acquire the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social skills needed to live as independently as possible. Performs all duties necessary to meet state-approved objectives and requirements. Maintain a high-quality program in accordance with State and Company standards, policies, and mission.

Assist individuals, as necessary, with daily living skills and the development of independent community skills.

Utilize Plans to assess consumer’s needs and interest in the community and develop goals and objectives.

Assist in the development of a weekly schedule for each consumer to maximize their time spent in the community.

Administer medication(s) and complete appropriate documentation. Accompany individuals to and from appointments and activities.

Attend staff meetings.

Exercise good judgment and remain calm in a crisis situation.

Interact with a wide range of people and establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with a person receiving supports.

Flexible schedules are available as determined by supervisor.

EDUCATION:

· High school graduates (or GED recipients) and at least eighteen (18) years of age.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

· Valid Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record. Mileage reimbursement provided for certain cases depending on travel distance.

· Satisfactory criminal background.

· Ability to lift 50 pounds.

· First Aid, CPR, OSHA, Medication Certification course and any other required agency trainings will be provided within first 120 days of employment.
