Job Title : Director of Nursing (Full Time) at 1501 S Main St., Lockhard, TX 78644Job ID: 225623Facility Salary : $85,000.00 to $110,000.00SummaryThe primary purpose of the position is to ensure the highest quality of resident care available, support staff and establish a positive reputation in the community while delivering on the Eduro HealthCare Values of wellness, compassion, customer experience and company results. Director of Nursing will plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Services Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards governing long term care facilities, and as may directed by the Administrator, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to the residents at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following
  • Adherence to Policies
  • Must show courtesy and respect to other employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, the general public, etc.
  • Abide by Eduro HealthCares drug and alcohol policy.
  • Maintain good personal hygiene and dress and groom appropriately.
  • Report on time as scheduled and follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Attend staff meetings and in-service sessions.
  • Become thoroughly familiar with emergency procedures.
  • Must be able to perform duties in a timely fashion, and within the prescribed sequences and schedules.
  • Must be cooperative with other departments and be courteous and respectful in dealing with them at all times.
  • Participate in and respond professionally to surveys (inspections) conducted by government agencies.
Administrative Duties include
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Nursing Services Department, its programs and activities, develop and maintain and periodically update written nursing policies, procedures, manuals, objectives and philosophies.
  • Assist in developing and implementing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services.
  • Implement plans of action to correct deficiencies.
  • Complete medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charts, etc.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a quality assurance program.
  • Assist in planning, developing, implementing and maintaining resident discharge procedures and plans.
  • Develop and implement a nursing services organization structure.
  • Participate in surveys and inspections by government agencies.
  • Make reports and recommendations to the Administrator concerning operations of the department.
Nursing Duties include
  • Participate in interviewing and screening residents for admission to the facility.
  • Inform personnel of new admissions, ensure rooms are ready, greet new admissions and escort to rooms.
  • Monitor residents' treatment and medications to ensure residents are receiving proper care.
  • Review nurses' notes to ensure proper documentation is maintained relating to residents' treatment, medications and conditions.
  • Make rounds with physicians and ensure proper record keeping; and, provide direct nursing care as necessary.
Personnel Duties include
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, evaluating, disciplining and terminating nursing services personnel.
  • Document and coordinate personnel actions
  • Schedule department work hours, including vacation and holiday schedules, shift and work assignments, etc. to ensure adequate staffing and to expedite work.
  • Delegate administrative authority, responsibility and accountability to nursing services supervisory personnel as deemed necessary to perform assigned duties.
  • Ensure that all nursing services personnel have valid and current licenses and are performing duties in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
  • Review personnel complaints and grievances and ensure that all personnel are treated consistent with policies and applicable laws.
Training and Development Duties include
  • Develop and participate in planning, implementing, conducting and scheduling orientation, training and in service educational activities for nursing services personnel.
  • Maintain professional competence, as well as current licenses, through participation in continuing education programs, seminars and training programs.
  • Encourage nursing services supervisory personnel to attend and participate in leadership and outside training programs.
  • Ensure that all nursing services personnel attend and participate in Hazardous Communication and Standard Precautions training programs prior to reporting for work assignments.

  • Be personally involved with all aspects of resident care to the extent necessary to assess its quality.
  • Respect all resident rights, including the confidentiality of resident care information.
  • Report immediately to the proper legal authorities if you have reason to believe a resident has been physically, emotionally, or sexually abused, or been a victim of theft of their personal property.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, cheerfulness, enthusiasm, and love, giving the resident the quality of service you would want to receive personally. Reflect the four core values of Eduro HealthCare.

Education And ExperienceMinimum one (1) year experience working with adults in a health care setting
Associates in Nursing
Language Skills
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform required duties.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Bi-lingual skills welcome
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must hold current and active Registered Nurse license or registration in state employed
  • Completion of orientation required by company policy.
  • Health screening and TB test (if required) within two weeks of employment.
  • Mandatory drug test within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be free of criminal activity proven by a criminal background check.
  • Become familiar with and comply to all local, state, and federal regulations relating to the job.
  • Show within three (3) days of hire satisfactory evidence of identity and eligibility for employment.
Physical Demands
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Frequently move about the facility.
  • Must be able to rapidly assist in the evacuation of all residents from the building in case of emergency.
Work Environment
  • May be asked to work beyond normal working hours and must have flexibility and willingness to work holidays, etc.
  • Must work in an office and other areas of the facility as needed.
  • Is subject to illness, diseases, and other health conditions present in the facility.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility.
