Position Overview:

Hopedale offers advanced healthcare delivered in a peaceful rural setting is not only less hectic for the patient and family - it can many times be more effective. Hopedale Medical Complex offers virtually the same services as many larger, city hospitals, including: a 24-hour emergency room, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), general and vascular surgery departments, orthopedic surgery, physical therapy and rehabilitation services, sports medicine, mammography, open magnetic imaging resonance (MRI), computed tomography scanning (CT), and many of the new innovative technologies needed for modern medicine.

Job Responsibilities

Radiology Technologists here at Hopedale Medical Complex perform a variety of imaging procedures, including X-ray, Fluoroscopy, CT and Surgery and are responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Currently offering up to $10,000 in retention bonuses for experienced Rad Techs. Full-time, part-time positions are available. The schedule consists of 12-hour shifts, 6:30 pm to 6:00 am. The night shift Radiology Technologists receive a $2.00 per hour shift differential.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the achievement of excellence in healthcare through the quality and caring values of the philosophy of the Hopedale Medical Complex.
• Maximizes job potential by attending all mandatory education and in-service programs.
• Ensures own health status with the timely compliance of all hospital health and safety policies.
• Provides the highest quality service appropriate to this position according to the concept and philosophy of continuous quality improvement.
• Responsible for complying with all hospital confidentiality and HIPAA requirements relating to department and hospital medical records and patient condition.
• Assists callers or department visitors in any way possible, routing to appropriate personnel within department.
• Maintains complete and accurate telephone messages for department personnel, ensuring accurate routing of messages.
• Responsible for the accurate and timely maintenance of Medical Imaging patient medical records, includes Radiology, Vascular and Echo Lab.
• Responsible for the filing and distribution of Radiology reports according to department protocol in the absence of office personnel.
• Responsible for performing office related duties in the absence of office staff.

Technical Operations Responsibilities and Standards:

• Identify each patient and review each patient's requisition, either hard copy or in computer systems, for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information.
• Records pertinent data on radiologic requisition at all times. (Physician's name, technologist's name, date, explanation for limited examination, etc.)Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety through proper use of restraint/support devices.
• Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents the completed examination to an appropriate technical staff member, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
• Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images, and ensures proper film identification on all images.
• Organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physician's orders.
• Report all safety hazards that could harm patients, visitors, or other hospital employees to appropriate administrative/management staff.
• Participate in the training and orientation of new employees.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and care through proper observation of established safety rules and regulations.

• Graduation from an accredited/approved school of Radiology
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
• Valid Illinois Radiology license
• CPR/AED and CT certifications are welcome but not required

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and move between tasks.
• Ability to hear and converse on the phone and in person.
• Ability to perform fine motor tasks, such as when working with the computer, writing or phone tasks.
• Ability to twist/bend, stoop/crouch and to climb or balance when moving or retrieving inventory from shelves
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds, and to push/pull.
• Ability to work first or second shift type hours.
