We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing quality patient care and ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications. Duties:
- Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Perform medication inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications
- Assist in the preparation of sterile products using aseptic technique, including IV infusions
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medication profiles and insurance information
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients by addressing their inquiries and concerns
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate medication therapy
- Adhere to all pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards of practice
Skills:
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of pharmaceutical abbreviations
- Knowledge of aseptic technique for the preparation of sterile products
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and dispensing
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism
- Familiarity with pharmacy computer systems for prescription processing and inventory management
Requirements:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred but not required
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures in acute care or critical care settings is a plus
