Position: Community Based Public Educator
HOPE of East Central Illinois is dedicated to ending domestic violence by providing a wide range of services for victims and facilitating social change. We are currently seeking to fill a Full-Time, Community Based Public Educator role within our Charleston office. Job Description:
Exempt. Full-time position, 40 hours per week. The Public Educator role may require some evenings and flexible hours. This position is responsible for increased community awareness of domestic violence and promotion of prevention, education, identification and intervention services available to victims within the HOPE of East Central Illinois catchment area. This role reports to the Director of Outreach and Prevention.

Scope of the Position:
The Community Based Public Educator role is a full-time, exempt position. Some evenings and flexible hours are needed. This role is responsible for increased community awareness of issues related to domestic violence and the services that HOPE of East Central Illinois provides. Responsibilities include promoting HOPE's efforts in prevention and education. The role will provide assistance to the community by educating the public in the identification of domestic violence. The role will also educate the community in the promotion of HOPE's prevention and intervention services that are available to survivors within the agency's catchment area. The ideal candidate must be willing to engage in direct communication in an effort to contribute to a healthy and positive community and work culture. Candidates must also be committed to and comfortable with diversity and demonstrate commitment to inclusivity. Successful candidates must be able to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations and must be able to work effectively as an individual as well as a team member.
Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to commit to the philosophy and programming at HOPE of East Central Illinois, which includes a commitment to survivors and a shared belief in helping to create a society free from violence.
