Hope Church Springfield is Hiring a Kitchen Assistant Near Springfield, MO

Qualifications

  • Prior restaurant experience
  • Prior experience in kitchen management
  • Prior experience in preparing meals for large numbers of people
  • Champion of mission, values, and culture of Hope Church
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead and administrate
  • Desire to learn & grow in hospitality & event management

SUMMARY & OBJECTIVE:

  • Responsibilities include – but are not limited to – creating a warm atmosphere, assisting in providing exceptional meals and service for all Hope events

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Able to work efficiently & effectively with a variety of people & personalities
  • Able to give direction & coaching to volunteers
  • Excellent communication skills
    • Driving Excellence in:
      • Service: Seek to serve Hope Church guests, volunteers & staff politely and efficiently. Anticipate needs & look for ways to raise the bar
      • Environment: Ensure that the kitchen environment is warm, inviting, and conducive to community. Keep the space clean and organized at all times. Maintain proper signage, as necessary.

GENERAL EXPECTATION

  • Must be able to mult-task in a manner that is calming & supportive to those you work with
  • Efficient in time management & troubleshooting skills
  • Able to follow directions & function independently
  • Ensure that Missouri Department of Health rules and regulations are appropriately followed
  • Keep the kitchen in good working order

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of all staples for the kitchen, beverage room, coffee bar and classrooms
  • Responsible for oversight of cleaning during meals/events
    • Cleaning/disinfection of tables
    • Restocking of supplies, drinks, etc.
    • Ensuring that volunteers are in place
  • Able to serve in all aspects of the job
    • Serving line
    • Taking money
    • Beverage bar
    • Coffee bar
  • Responsible for setting up table designs for meals and events
    • Organization
    • Must have excellent management and time management skills
    • Maintain & Organize beverage area, stock room, coffee bar and B classrooms
  • Additional responsibilities:
    • Flexible schedule that allows for evening and weekend events
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Keep an accurate account of kitchen supplies and equipment
    • Ensure that adequate staples are on hand – coffee, condiments and paper products
    • Launder towels, linens and table coverings
