The qualified candidate will oversee projects across the organization, with a primary focus on leading Business Applications Development. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong background in project management for software development, IT, and general projects. The Senior Project Manager will effectively drive projects to completion, leveraging leadership and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. This is a full-time position based in North Dallas, Texas.

Role and Responsibilities

Business Applications Development Project Management:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of Business Applications Development projects, including Line of Business (LOB) application development, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables, ensuring clear communication and understanding of expectations and requirements.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage both internal and external resources effectively to meet project milestones and deadlines.
  • Conduct risk assessment and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project risks and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Coordinate with external development teams to oversee the software development lifecycle and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Manage improvement requests and bug reports from internal and external sources, driving resolution with the development team in a timely manner and closing out completed requests.
  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.

General Project Management:

  • Oversee a variety of general non-technical projects across different departments and functions within the organization, such as process improvements, facility upgrades, and organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables, and develop project plans and timelines.
  •  Allocate resources, manage budgets, and track project expenses to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with stakeholders across departments and levels to gather requirements, solicit feedback, and address concerns related to project initiatives.
  • Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a liaison to facilitate communication and collaboration.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and proactively resolve conflicts or issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in the creation of reporting necessary to provide status and budget reporting for executive leadership as needed.

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:

  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality project outcomes that meet user requirements and standards.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of project performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization, encouraging team members to contribute ideas and suggestions for enhancing processes and outcomes.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree or PMP certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience (4 years) in project management, with at least 2 years’ experience in software development or IT projects. Experience in insurance or healthcare industries at organizations that have adopted a compliance or cybersecurity framework is preferred.
