Description
Honor Services is a professional back-office providing subsidiary of Brown Industries. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Director of Accounting to lead and manage our accounting team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing and developing teams, developing and implementing processes and workflows, and strategizing for growth. In addition, they must have a strong ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality, accurate work while fostering a strong sense of integrity. This Director level role will play a key part in shaping the overall direction and strategy of the accounting department within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals, providing mentorship and guidance as needed.
- Develop and implement efficient processes and workflows for the accounting team, both within the department and in conjunction with other departments.
- Collaborate with other members of the executive leadership team to align the team's goals with the overall organization's growth strategy.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure that the team is meeting all deadlines and delivering high-quality, accurate work.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Work with the team to identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in financial records, ensuring that the team maintains a high level of integrity in their work.
- Stay up to date on relevant regulations and compliance requirements, and ensure that the team is following all relevant laws and regulations.
- Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, contributing to the overall direction and strategy of the organization.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and management.
- CPA or similar certification required.
- Proficiency in accounting software and programs, such as Vista Accounting Software and pVault Invoice Management software.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- This position works full time, in person, at Honor's corporate office in Baton Rouge, LA.
- The following environmental/atmospheric working conditions are commonly, but not always, a requirement of this position. The actual working conditions may vary.
- Work environment includes office machines, electronics and filing systems.
- Frequent lifting materials weighing up to 5 pounds.
- Constant sitting, typing and reaching for long periods of time.
- Completing tasks that require excellent hand/eye coordination.
- Required to sit at a computer for several hours at a time.
