The Team

The Mechanical Structures and Components (MS&C) division of Honeywell Aerospace is responsible for a wide variety of product lines including environmental controls, valves, and actuators.This position would be a part of the Tempe Analysis team who supports these various product lines using state of the art software tools.

Using a variety of FEA tools, empirical formula, and other engineering tools the thermal analyst predicts the temperatures of various aerospace components in a part or system to identify thermal risks that result from the operational demands and/or environmental conditions.Once thermal issues are identified, the thermal engineer proposes solutions and works in conjunction with other team members to implement them into the design.

Key Responsibilities

·Create FEA models from NX design files and perform steady state and transient thermal analysis using ANSYS, Fluent or Star-CCM software and hand calculations using Excel, Matlab or Visual Basic.

·Creation of technical documentation such as weekly progress briefs, internal thermal reports, customer deliverable reports, and design review presentations

·Collaborating with project, stress, reliability, performance, and design engineering teams to suggest ways to improve the thermal performance and/or minimize thermal risk of various components

·Contributing to and presenting results at Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews either internally or with external customers.

·Provide cost and workload estimation. Maintain schedule adherence to meet key milestones.
