Honeywell AerospaceMaterials Engineering is seeking a Senior Advanced Materials Engineer. Thisposition will be based out of the Glendale, AZ facility and support both localdesign and manufacturing activities as well as global Aero materials andprocess engineering activities. This is a challenging, multi-dimensional leadershiprole that requires the individual to multitask across several concurrent taskassignments. The position will operatewithin a global Materials Engineering team, working in partnership with other engineerslocated primarily at the Glendale & Clearwater FL facilities to support theSpace business.
The successfulcandidate will have the responsibility to ensure designs for assigned programsmeet customer requirements. Theindividual will be performing material engineering tasks associated with thedevelopment, design, manufacture, and test of momentum control and guidancesystems/sub-components to support the Space & Defense business. Responsibilities will include the review ofcustomer- and Honeywell-generated requirements to ensure cost effectiveapproaches and to verify performance and environmental requirements are met, preparationof proposal inputs, development of material and process control plans, specifications,corrosion control plans, Materials Identification and Usage Lists, drawingreviews, NSMAR’s and other contract deliverable items associated with theMaterials Engineering role.
In addition to theDesign support role, the candidate will also be expected to lead MaterialsEngineering activities for process/product problem resolution, which can rangefrom problem solving on the production floor to support of large-scale failureinvestigation activities. The candidateis expected to have a breadth of materials knowledge and the abilitydevelop/drive test plans, coordinate with other Subject Matter Experts across awide range of disciplines and provide technical guidance to internal and externalcustomers to ensure products meet the reliability requirements for the Spacebusiness.
The successfulcandidate will also be expected to be able to perform as an expert in multipleSpecial Process areas such as Heat Treat, Chem Process, Welding, PB, PBA,Cables & Harness, etc. In this role,the candidate will provide technical expertise to solve process issues, performtechnical auditing at Honeywell sites and suppliers and perform processwitnessing for critical manufacturing processes.
