We are hiring an Advance Application Engineer in the Charlotte, NC to support multi-domain BMS (Building Management System) engineering portfolio for the NAR south region. This position is responsible for the designing and programming of BMS Systems using company tools and operating protocols. In addition, you will participate in direct customer interactions and in cross-functional support to sale/estimation, projects/install PMs, service PMs, and high-level commissioning support to technicians.

Occasionally, you will also get to participate in beta testing of new products and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with customer and/or sales to develop the high-level technical vision/map per the use-cases; and then expanding vision into a multi-domain BMS architecture that can be taken forward for the design implementation.
  • Effectively drive the technical presentations and/or communicate compelling features and benefits of the solutions and services to sales team and customers.
  • Possesses the ability to drive technical discussions with internal and external customers, e.g., conducting site walks, accurately reviewing customer specs, and with the ability to identify opportunities, risks, and resources required to achieve results within the proposal cycle.
  • Ability to professionally communicate in writing and verbally to account team, proposal team, management, and customers; including communicating risks, conflicts, and escalations,
  • Ability to configure and deploy front-end GUI servers for BMS in accordance with the networking and cybersecurity policies.
  • Coordinate and communicate with customer IT, network specialist, different vendors and sub-contractors to provide robust and secure BMS infrastructure.
  • Zealous about learning new solutions and tools. Work with product development and offering team to provide inputs for product developments or improvements. Experience or ability to learn new-age integration APIs such as REST, MQTT, and more.
  • Review job contract plans, scope and specifications, survey information, sales sketch, estimates and take-off sheets for opportunities and proposals. Clearly define requirements prior to starting engineering.
  • Hands of experience on leading a technical deployment for a large project involving multi-domain technologies such as HVAC, Access Control, Fire Alarm, CCTV, lighting, third-party integrations.
  • Design building control systems including DDC controller system by selecting the proper combination of hardware, software, equipment, materials and services from the Honeywell product & applications portfolio that will deliver the highest value to the customer while supporting overall Honeywell business objectives.
  • Ability to engineer hardware, software, graphics, sequences, equipment selection and sizing – e.g., valve sizing, damper sizing, amplifier sizing.
  • Turn technical features/functions into a professional proposal and demonstrate business benefits.
  • Proposals include technical scope, commercial estimates, deliverables in the scope, schedules and terms and conditions and other variables to meet customer requests and expectations.
  • Must have the ability to multitask and produce desired results in a deadline driven environment.
  • Work effectively and efficiently in a team environment. Work with sales, project operations team, field technicians, remote engineering teams, and field engineers as needed to improve efficiency and quick turnarounds with high quality deliverables.
