Roledescription
Business Process Excellence-Lead Project Management Specialist is responsible for managing assigned improvement project(s) under Business Process Excellence Program Office.
Works with improvement project team as project coordinator and facilitates use of proven methodologies and tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, Accelerator/HOS management system etc.
Understands and defines the exact problem statement or improvement opportunity validated through initial data collection and baseline information
Considers big picture and end to end view to avoid local optimization
Facilitates project charter and roadmap preparation to achieve end objective
Ensures that detail analysis based on data and facts is done before improvement actions are decided
Uses root cause analysis techniques to understand the real problem, enabling deployment of actions as permanent solutions rather than a quick fix
Periodically reviews the assigned project(s) and ensures schedule adherence
Ensures that the process owners, project sponsors and the project team members are on the same page regarding information and progress\
Timely escalates and seeks support to overcome any roadblocks affecting project progress
Facilitates deployment of improvement actions and related change management activities
Ensures that towards the end of the project a control plan or robust sustenance mechanism is established to sustain the gains
Makes sure that the final project recommendations are institutionalized as part of process assets or applicable daily management system.
Presents project status in the HPS Business Process Excellence Program Office reviews and any other reviews as necessary
Provides project status information and highlights for inclusion in various reports
As an integral part of Business Process Excellence Function, contributes in knowledge sharing with peers and helps create knowledge repository
Knowledgeand Skills
Good amount of domain knowledge of the key areas in business operations and overall understanding of major business processes and functions
Solid knowledge & experience with Six Sigma, Lean tools and methodologies, Accelerator/HOS management system, OD, customer experience improvement initiatives
Ability to independently manage improvement projects by collaborating with all the involved agencies
Strong results oriented approach to ensure the improvement projects are demonstrating tangible results
Ability to coach others in systematic problem solving & continuous improvement activities using proven methodologies and tools
Capable of effectively communicating with team members, process owners and project sponsors
Capable of visualizing big picture and spot the right root cause
