The Nurse Practitioner – Wound Care plays a critical role in assessing patients. This position requires a wound care certified nurse practitioner who is experienced, team-oriented, and able to provide expert wound care in the office or nursing home setting according to the practice guidelines of the state of Tennessee or Mississippi. The nurse practitioner will provide and oversee wound care, diagnose, and treat wound care patients following evidence-based guidelines, monitor clinical quality of care, and ensure regulatory and company compliance. Qualified candidates will have strong knowledge of evidenced-based wound care practices, the use of skin substitutes and other strategies to improve targeted outcomes. The wound certified nurse practitioner will work closely with the assigned team to monitor outcomes, clinical efficiency, appropriateness/quality of care and supervise care.

The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. The physical requirements of this position are medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently. The Nurse Practitioner – Wound Care is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading. Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact. Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
