Honey Bear Bakery is Hiring a Baker Near Seattle, WA

We are looking for a full time Baker to prepare different types of bread and a wide range of pastries, such as cookies, scones, and cakes. Baker responsibilities include opening the bakery early in the morning (shifts are 5am-1pm), mixing dough, preparing fillings and glazing pastries. To be successful in this role, you should have some baking experience, be able to accurately follow proprietary recipes, and shape and bake different doughs accordingly. Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis! Available shifts total approximately 36-40 hours per week.

This is a tipped position- we have been making an additional $6-$7 an hour in tips thanks to our loyal and wonderful regulars! Medical benefits are also available to full time employees.

Responsibilities

  • Open the bakery early in the morning
  • Clean kitchen equipment and tools before and after use
  • Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough
  • Bake different bread types, like focaccia, baguettes and sandwich breads
  • Shape dough to prepare different types of pastries, including croissants, scones, and sweet rolls
  • Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
  • Mix various ingredients to create fillings for pastries such as cinnamon rolls, almond croissants, and pies

Skills

  • Experience as a Baker or similar role (limited experience or culinary student okay- we will provide on-the-job training!)
  • Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, proof boxes, and dough sheeters
  • Understanding of food safety practices
  • Excellent time-management and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
  • Flexibility to work in early morning shifts
