Honda is Hiring a Service Parts Supervisor Near Marysville, OH

Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide supervision and direction for the service parts business handling by the Parts team in managing all inventory, order requirements, and processing all related transactions, while meeting customer requirements and fostering relationships with suppliers. This role is responsible for negotiating and setting strategy for service-related activities with domestic and international business partners and managing associate performance and development.
Service activity will include management of two large service-related projects: child part supply for service production in Mexico and service supply for new automotive manufacturer. Activity will include quotation and purchase activity for est. 3,500 part numbers, inventory planning and management and on-time part supply. Service area requires a high level of customer service, working with both suppliers and customers to ensure no gaps in supply.
Key Accountabilities
  • Operations: Oversee team member execution of all inbound purchase orders, inventory management, and outbound shipping requirements. Oversee coordination of material planning, purchasing, inventory valuation, and sales order invoicing. Foster a creative approach to supply chain problems as needed and lead team in project management strategy.
  • Manage Internal/External Relationships: Supervise associates and participate in supplier and customer meetings to promote HTA business solutions, understand customer expectations & requirements and sensing of Supplier capabilities. Coach team members in building strong relationships and collaboration across business partners
  • Negotiations: Lead and support negotiations on problem resolution with suppliers, customers, and service providers. Ensure tools are in place to request rates and services. Evaluate quotes & quote updates from team members based on project standards and business needs.
  • Business Planning: Set overall team sales targets, profitability, and report budget planning information at required timing, as well as any variance reporting with logical explanations. Supervise team members through the on-boarding process for new projects ensuring all key criteria are met on hand-off of projects. Review operation management processes & tools regularly for efficiency and accuracy. Hold periodicmeetings with project team to review project results and profitability.
  • Associate Management & Development: Create and present performance plan documents to associates at start of each fiscal year. Document associate performance throughout the year and meet regularly to discuss process towards the plan. Set annual/mid-term direction for team with management, following department policy tree, through action plans and manage activity with associates throughout the ki. Understand associate daily work activity and provide coaching and direction as needed, recommend training opportunities for team member growth, champion associate successes and support growth to achieve career goals.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or other applicable field or 5-7 years’ experience in related field.
Minimum Experience
  • 5-7 years’ experience in related field.
  • Previous supervisory or project leader experience is strongly preferred.
Other Job-Specific Skills
  • Strong data calculation & analysis skills
  • Microsoft suite proficiency (excel, word, ppt)
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Basic supply chain principles familiarity (Incoterms, USMCA, International trade)

Working Conditions
