Honda is Hiring a Facilities Technical Project Manager Near Russells Point, OH

Job Purpose
Project Manager/Engineer responsible for (End of Life) EOL and construction project management to ensure facility operations to support production. Supports and implements strategy to maintain and upgrade existing infrastructure including design, installation, maintenance, and operations for various building and equipment disciplines.
Project Engineer with capabilities to implement and communicate an operational plan for completing a project, monitor progress and performance against the project plan; resolve operational problems, and minimize delays. Working knowledge of systems with ability to develop schedules, budget and forecasts, select materials, equipment, and resources. Focus to maximize cost efficiency and usability while minimizing risk to production and maintenance downtime.
Key Accountabilities
  • Manage projects and work with internal customers and external consultants and contractors to support concept, specification, design, scope, construction, and installation. Communicate and work with department team members and oversee projects. Includes building renovations, new construction, electrical/mechanical system improvements, exterior paving, concrete, siding, roofing, etc.
  • Support operations of Facilities operations with mechanical/electrical/structural design and specification. Assure facilities systems and utilities meet capacity and reliability requirements of the customer. Utilize project management, analytical decision-making, risk assessment, and troubleshooting / problem solving, to support facilities-related operations to meet or exceed organization metrics.
  • Continuous improvement and support of facilities systems, including design, coordination, preventative/predictive equipment service, capacity, controls, and upgrades. Determine performance concerns and propose and implement new engineering strategies and technologies to replace facilities equipment and systems at their end of life (EOL) to maintain expected performance. Update, review and control drawings as needed from design through equipment acceptance.
  • Create scope documents based on unit/department project requirements. Manage and/or support the bidding, evaluation, and selection process of contractors for the design and construction of projects. Create and manage project schedules, scope of work, budgets and project E-Flow to support plant-wide projects. Review and approve engineering/design drawings at the various levels of design completion. Determine and prioritize project tasks and develop project schedule to achieve project final goals on time and within budget.
  • Arrange and manage appropriate contracted services support, as needed. Ensure all work meets or exceeds defined organization targets. Adhere to Honda standards to positively impact safety, reliability, and delivery.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • 4 year degree in Engineering, Project or Construction Management, Facility Management, or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 0-6 years of experience developing, coordinating and managing and/or facility related projects preferred
  • Knowledge / Experience Required: Knowledge of facilities management and operations, including construction skilled trades, troubleshooting, and repair. Peripheral knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems related to an industrial facility.
  • Knowledge / Experience Preferred: Project management experience. Knowledge of building codes, governing regulations, and industry standards, and local building and utility-related codes. Experience with Maximo asset management system software
  • Skills Required: Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills; customer focus (building productive relationships); Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and preferably Microsoft Project, and AutoCad / Revit capabilities.
  • Demonstrated Abilities: Effective communication of ideas to gain consensus from individuals or teams. Technical proficiency. Balancing multiple projects simultaneously. Comprehending technical drawings and specifications. Planning and executing special projects and reporting. Working well in a collaborative environment.
  • Honda Factors: Ability to balance the wants / needs of the customer with Facilities operational requirements. Knowledge of Honda project flow, budgeting, and cost reporting. Project tracking and reporting to confirm targets are achieved.
Workstyle
  • Willingness to travel for department reviews and business planning events at Ohio Based facilities
  • 50% Manufacturing/Production Environment including construction site locations, 50% office/desk environment
  • Work all appropriate overtime/weekends/shutdowns to manage projects and cover production needs.
