Key Job Responsibilities

• Manages a small year-round staff but large seasonal 24/7 staff 
• Manages all order fulfillment, inventory control, and processing aspects of a 32,000 sq ft e-commerce fulfillment and production center plus an additional storage facility
• Practices Six Sigma and/or Lean process improvement methods to improve fulfillment operations 
• Directly manages all aspects of WMS system and warehouse technology including interfacing with technology providers and reporting functions
• Implements and enforces proper fulfillment procedures such as demand-based slotting, proper replenishment techniques, etc.
• Establishes, measures, and acts upon KPIs for each department and position
• Develops and implements total Christmas hiring, and staff plans for 24/7 Christmas operations. (approximately ~120 seasonal staff)
• Ensures timely production and shipment of orders, minimizing damage and mis-shipment rates
• Leads hiring effort of fulfillment staff both off-season and on-season
• Conducts job time studies to better optimize fulfillment processes
• Coordinates all fulfillment functions with shipping companies Fedex/UPS/USPS, 3PL, and vendors
• Develops a deep bench of leaders waiting to step into each role as needed
• Conducts data gathering, data analysis, and proactive process implementation and improvement
• Negotiates contracts with vendors
• Identify cost savings opportunities in the operations process and recommend improvements needed to address those costs
• Remedies any unexpected problems that occur that would impede fulfillment from achieving their daily/weekly goals. Including issues with software vendors and third parties

• 7 years of experience in small package order fulfillment
• 5 years experience in WMS systems
• 4 years experience managing a minimum of 40 employees
• Data-driven individual with strong analytical and process design/implementation skills
• Ability to peak plan, hire for, and run multiple shifts
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management, Fulfillment Operations, or related field
• Strong Excel and computer skills
• Natural aptitude for leading people; developing managers and teams
• Hold staff accountable to goals, objectives, and total quality. Including disciplinary when necessary
• Self-motivated and able to own workloads, meet deadlines, and deliver results
