Homewatch CareGivers is a non-profit organization providing services to individuals with Autism and other related disorders. We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide support to individuals with Autism in their homes and community.

DSP’s work under the supervision of a Licensed Support Worker (LSW). Duties include, but are not limited to, providing assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), providing medication reminders, and providing transportation and/or transportation safety precautions.

Duties may vary based on the needs of the individual served. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Provide assistance with ADLs as directed by the individual

• Assist with medication reminders
• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Assist individual with transportation and or safety precautions
• Assist individual with self-management activities
• Monitor and record behavior and progress
• Report changes in behaviors, symptoms, or health conditions
• Document services provided
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Work as part of a team with other service providers
• Use positive language in interactions with individuals served
• Gather information about client's background, interests, goals, concerns, and fears by conducting research; writing reports; creating presentations.

Skills:
Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities preferred.

• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and oral communication skills are valued greatly by Nelsonville, OH residents. Duties may vary depending on the needs of the individual served.
