Job Description:

Homewatch CareGivers is looking for dependable, skilled, and personable caregivers in the Bowie and surrounding areas. Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Experience as a caregiver in a homecare and/or skilled facility setting.
• Must meet hiring criteria as defined in the agency’s minimum standards.
• Must be able to function with minimal supervision and maintain a professional client relationship.
• Must accept responsibility for ongoing learning and skill development, adhering to agency policies.
• Does not administer medication or perform procedures requiring the knowledge or skills of a licensed nurse or registered therapist.
• Must pass all background and drug screenings.

Major Responsibilities:

• Provide Personalized Care: Offer compassionate and personalized assistance to our clients, adhering to their unique care plans and preferences.
• Support Daily Activities: Assist clients in their daily routines, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility, while promoting their independence and comfort.
• Emotional Support: Be a source of emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive and caring environment for clients.
• Effective Communication: Maintain open and clear communication with clients, their families, and our healthcare team to ensure the best possible care.
• Safety: Prioritize the safety and well-being of clients, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
• Documentation: Accurately document care activities and any changes in a client's condition, providing vital information for our healthcare team.
• Flexibility: Be adaptable and ready to respond to the evolving needs of clients, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care.

Physical Qualifications:

• Able to work 20-40 hours per week.
• Able to perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, stooping, and standing.
• Able to lift 20-30 pounds.
• Must have a smartphone. We use Care for clocking in and out of shifts and for entering client notes.
